The power of partnership in business
When Jessica and Dae walked into Balloonathon last June, they had no idea the weekend would spark a brand-new chapter in both of their businesses. They were already friends, already collaborating, and already cheering each other on... but the industry saw something even they hadn’t. What began as two solo balloon artists supporting each other quickly grew into a full business partnership, a rebrand and the launch of The Balloon Club Co. And in just a few months, their collaboration has led to a storefront, an employee, a cargo van and a level of momentum neither had experienced alone.
Why They Chose Partnership
Jessica and Dae each brought different strengths to the table: Jessica loves the creative side, while Dae thrives on the business side. Instead of trying to fill every gap alone, they realized they could go further together.
But they’re clear: partnership only works when it’s rooted in trust.
“I trust her with my life,” Jessica said. “If I can’t be there, I know she will be.” Dae added that what really makes their partnership strong is how they handle disagreement... not avoiding it, but communicating through it with respect.
Building Something Bigger—Fast
Since officially forming The Balloon Club Co., the pace of their growth has surprised even them. By combining resources and customer bases, they were able to invest quickly and confidently:
-
Opened a retail storefront
-
Hired an employee
-
Purchased a cargo van
Their partnership didn’t just increase capacity—it multiplied opportunity.
Money, Mindset, and Shared Goals
One of the most delicate parts of combining businesses is finances. Jessica and Dae approached it with openness and a shared purpose. Instead of comparing experience or revenue, they agreed that everything earned in the new business would go “back into the pot” to fuel growth. They’re not taking regular salaries yet, by choice.
Their faith guides their decisions, their pace and their boundaries. They've decided not to work on Sundays (ever). Even as they grow, they plan to keep that boundary for themselves and their employees.
Advice for Anyone Afraid to Take the Next Step
Both women know that many business owners feel stuck, wanting more but scared to move. Their message is simple:
-
Pray about it.
-
Do it scared.
-
Don’t wait for the fear to disappear.
-
Your growth is on the other side of discomfort.
As Jessica put it, “You can’t pour from an empty cup. Rest, recharge, set boundaries, and then go after the thing you’ve been thinking about.”
What’s Next for Balloon Club Co.?
Every time they set a goal, they seem to hit it quickly. So for now, they’re focused on stability, continued growth and building a business that reflects their values. Whether it’s expanding their team or raising their salaries, they’re confident the future is bright.
And with their mix of work ethic, faith and partnership, it’s hard to imagine anything slowing them down.
