Everything You Want Is on the Other Side of Fear
What if your biggest business breakthrough is on the other side of fear?
In episode 32 of The Bright Balloon, I talk with Tinesha from Mbellish Events, a balloon artist, full-time mom of five, and creative entrepreneur who decided to stop waiting for confidence—and take action instead.
Tinesha’s story is one of courage, clarity, and what happens when you stop holding back. By stepping into something that initially scared her, she ended up delivering over 360 orders, landing a TV news segment, and earning $6,700 in just a few weeks—all while running her business solo.
Feeling Stuck and Playing Small
Like many of us, Tinesha was running a busy balloon business but felt stuck in a loop. She had ideas and ambition—but also doubt.
Could she really pull off a large-scale campaign? Would anyone respond? Would it be worth the effort?
The idea that pushed her forward—an Adopt a Grandparent balloon delivery during the pandemic. It involved custom packages, local delivery, outreach to senior facilities, and a fair amount of logistics.
It felt overwhelming. But she tried anyway.
Bold Action, Big Results
Tinesha launched her campaign with a clear message, high-quality photos, and a whole lot of heart. And then, she did something most people never do: she wrote and submitted a press release to her local media.
Within 24 hours, she was being interviewed on the evening news. That single TV segment brought in a flood of new orders—so many that she quickly filled three entire senior facilities with balloon deliveries!
By the end of the campaign, she had delivered 360 orders and made over $6,700 in sales. But more than that, she built community visibility, earned client trust, and proved to herself what she’s capable of.
Moving Through the Fear
When I asked Tinesha what made the difference, she said:
“Everything you want is on the other side of fear.”
She didn’t have a team. She didn’t have corporate sponsors. She had determination, creativity, and a willingness to figure it out.
Tinesha’s story is a reminder that the right opportunity probably won’t feel “easy” or “safe”—but if you move through the fear anyway, it could change everything.
